GeoStarters
Jump start your geoscience intern/new-hire on their subsurface interpretation and to effectively communicate their work to experienced staff
For Universities, we conduct 1 or 2 day exercise-focused interpretation workshops for Upper-Division University students. Projects include well-log and Seismic interpretation of hydrocarbon and CO2 sequestration examples
For Industry, we provide one-on-one mentoring for initial project start-up phase (2-4 weeks) during the transition from academia to the industry
Proven interpretation workflows with well and seismic datasets
Industry Applications:
Energy
Carbon Sequestration
Groundwater
Value of GeoStarters
Tailored to company projects
• Conventional and Unconventional
• Stratigraphic and Structural
• Exploration and Development
• Well and Seismic datasets
One-on-one advising
• Interpretation workflows with practical products
• Focus on the right questions vs. trying to answer all unknowns
• Avoid interpretation stumbling blocks and “rabbit-holes”

Jeremy Greene has over 38 years of experience as an exploration interpreter. He has worked a variety of basins worldwide, using seismic, log, gravity and magnetics, and engineering data. He has held positions of various responsibilities ranging from individual contributor to Vice President of Exploration, both in small and large companies. Jeremy has a B.S. in Geophysical Engineering from Colorado School of Mines, and a M.Sc. in Geophysics from the University of Texas Austin. He is currently a member of the Jackson School of Geosciences Advisory Council and Advisory Council Finance Committee.
Jim Hewlett has worked as a prospecting geophysicist/geologist for 38 years for large and small companies, most recently in unconventionals in the Permian Basin and Eagle Ford. His broad skillset includes stratigraphic, structural, and amplitude-driven prospecting based on experiences in the GOM, W Africa, Alaska and ARCO stratigraphic research. Jim received his B.A. Geology from Millersville University (PA) and a M.Sc. Geophysics from Wright State University.
Client Testimonials
Industry Intern Mentoring
“When I first started working, I went from the college classroom to a desk cubicle and had no idea what to do. I was given tasks that seemed like they were in a different language. Getting mentored by Mr. Greene was like getting to take a one-on-one immersion course. He taught me how to everything from how to pick horizons and faults to calculating volumetrics and in no time, I felt like an actual professional geologist."
